Liverpool and Shakhtar Donetsk are still some way apart in negotiations over a fee for striker Alex Teixeira, Sky sources understand.
Teixeira was reported to have asked the Ukrainian club to sell him to Liverpool, and previously said he would like to get a move completed by the end of the January transfer window.
Liverpool were reported to have made a £25m offer for the 26-year-old, who has been in prolific form with 22 goals scored in only 16 matches this season.
But Sky sources believe Shakhtar are holding out for £35m for Teixeira, and are in no rush to sell their biggest asset as they continue to press for their domestic title.
Shakhtar are currently in the United States as part of a winter training camp.
Jurgen Klopp has so far refused to comment about Teixeira, who would give Liverpool's striking options a boost in the absence of the injured Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi.
