Sochaux hope for Le Tallec

Jean-Claude Plessis concedes financial issues are hindering Sochaux's efforts to re-sign Anthony Le Tallec.

Wages a problem for French side

Jean-Claude Plessis concedes financial issues are hindering Sochaux's efforts to re-sign Anthony Le Tallec. The Liverpool forward spent last season on loan at Sochaux and scored four goals in 25 appearances in Ligue 1. The French side want Le Tallec back for the coming campaign, with the player appearing to have little prospect of regular football at Anfield. But Sochaux president Plessis admits that the 22-year-old's current salary at Liverpool is prohibitive.

Subject to conditions

Plessis remains hopeful of bringing Le Tallec back to the club, but is adamant he will not break the bank for the youngster. "It is no longer a question of getting an additional attacker, save perhaps Anthony," Plessis told French newspaper L'Est Republicain. "But that remains subject to conditions that we all know about. "He has an English salary and I can't break the wage bill of this club like that."
