Jack Wilshere made his return to first-team football with Arsenal at Sunderland on Saturday, playing the final eight minutes of the 0-0 draw.
The England international replaced Mesut Ozil at the Stadium of Light in what was his first senior appearance for the Gunners since last season's FA Cup final against Aston Villa, 330 days ago.
Wilshere did, however, play twice for England in June of last year, but has missed all of the current campaign to date after undergoing surgery in September for a fractured left tibia suffered in pre-season training.
The England international played in Arsenal U21s' 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Monday, but required treatment in the first half after hurting his right knee.
Wilshere got back to his feet to score in an Arsenal shirt for the first time in 11 months and Arsene Wenger named him in his squad for Sunderland, giving the midfielder a late run-out in the game.
