Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry has been named in Germany's squad for the Olympic Games.

Gnabry is among 18 players chosen by coach Horst Hrubesch for the Rio de Janeiro tournament, which runs from August 3-20.

That schedule rules him out of Arsenal's final pre-season preparations and their opening Premier League game at home to Liverpool on August 14, live on Sky Sports.

Gnabry has not featured for the Gunners' first team since March 2014, when he suffered a knee injury that kept him out for the entire 2014/15 season.

The 21-year-old joined West Brom on a season-long loan last summer but made just three appearances - two of them in the League Cup - before returning to Arsenal early.

Joining Gnabry in Rio are brothers Sven and Lars Bender and Matthias Ginter, all of whom have previously been regulars in the senior squad.
