Olivier Giroud has revealed he is close to signing a new contract with Arsenal.
The France striker has 18 months left on his current deal with the Premier League side but hopes, in the wake of an upturn in form, to be staying with the club in the longer term.

Giroud has scored goals in each of his last four Arsenal appearances, including the flamboyant scorpion kick strike against Crystal Palace and their late winner in the 2-1 FA Cup third-round victory at Preston on Saturday.
The 30-year-old is one of a number of key players Arsenal are looking to tie down, a list also including leading scorer Alexis Sanchez and playmaker Mesut Ozil.
Giroud told French broadcaster Telefoot: "We are about to reach an agreement for an extension [to my contract].
"It was also a gesture of confidence, I want to continue the adventure here in this family of Arsenal. I feel good here.
"When I spoke to the coach, he always told me that I was an important player.
"I know what I am capable of. I just needed to be patient, to work in training and wait for my hour to come."
