The latest Arsenal news and transfer rumours on Thursday January 24, including James Rodriguez and Denis Suarez.
Unai Emery said in press conference on Wednesday that Arsenal "need and can" make January signings, as he revealed they are seeking "one or two" new players during the January transfer window.
He said: "The club is working with different players. Our message is we only want to sign one or two players, who can help us with performance. The club is working."
Aissa Mandi is an Arsenal transfer target, according to ElDesmarque.
The Real Betis centre back has reportedly been recommended to the club's hierarchy by Emery, but the 27-year-old has a €30m (£28m) buyout clause which may detract Arsenal from signing the Algeria international.
The future of James Rodriguez is still in doubt as he is said to be in the centre of a tussle between Arsenal and Tottenham.
AS are reporting that Real Madrid would prefer the Colombia international to join Tottenham in order to help force through a swap deal for Christian Eriksen.
With Emiliano Martinez now on loan at Reading, Arsenal are reportedly in the market and could use Aaron Ramsey's transfer to Juventus as a way of bringing 22-year-old Emil Audero the other way.
That's according to Tuttosport, who believe Audero, currently on loan at Sampdoria, could be on his way to north London to provide Bernd Leno with competition in goal.
Denis Suarez was left out of Barcelona's squad for their Copa del Rey tie against Sevilla and Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has admitted the player could leave this month.
"We are happy with the squad but there are always possibilities for departures for those who maybe do not feature as often," Valverde said on Tuesday.
Emery was asked about Suarez on Wednesday as he is understood to be keen on signing the winger, but he replied: "I don't want to speak about individual players, because I know the club is working."
