Arsene Wenger is happy with the improvement of his Arsenal side this season and confident of progressing past Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.
The Gunners topped the Premier League table just a few weeks ago but they have now fallen back to third and six points behind leaders Manchester United.
They were also held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool in the home leg of their Champions League quarter-final last week.
Wenger insists it would be unfair to judge Arsenal's season as a failure because they could still go on to be crowned European champions.
"It is still too early to make any conclusions about our season but I know we can qualify on Tuesday because we have the quality to do it," he said in
The Sun.
"We have made progress compared to last season because we have been challenging for the title right from the start and we are in the last eight in the Champions League.

"The young players have done remarkably well and carried the team. Now we need to prepare physically and mentally for Tuesday.
"This team have given everything against a very good Liverpool defence."
Wenger also believes that Arsenal would have stood an excellent chance of winning the Premier League had they managed to keep everybody fit.
He explained: "I could have spent in the January transfer window but I did not know then that Eduardo, Robin van Persie and Tomas Rosicky would all be out at the same time.
"The turning point was losing Eduardo when we were already without Van Persie and Rosicky.
"If we'd had everybody available we would still have been top of the table."
