Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has set his sights on finishing in second spot in the table. The Gunners saw their title hopes ended last Sunday following their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford. Wenger admitted the defeat still wrangles with him after Arsenal took the lead before losing to their bitter rivals. The Frenchman has called on his players to bounce back against Reading on Saturday and finish the season as best they can.

Target

"It will never go out of my system, but we want to focus forwards and what is in front of us," Wenger told the club's official website. "Now is a good opportunity for us to show mental strength and to finish as well as we can, as high as we can because second place is still possible." Despite ending the season empty handed, Wenger believes his young side have made progress this term and that they will learn from their mistakes to come back even stronger next year.
Progress
"Overall, I believe we have made big progress this season," added Wenger. "We were very close to the two trophies which really matter to us and we want to go into the next season feeling we have moved forward. "I believe we will benefit from all which we have learned this year and will come back even stronger."
