Russian hopes to be fit for Sunderland clash

Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin has admitted he is set to miss next week's UEFA Champions League clash with Porto. The diminutive forward is struggling with a hamstring injury he picked up in the midweek win over Liverpool. Arshavin had a scan on the injury on Thursday and although the injury is not thought to be serious the Russian expects to miss the trip to Portugal next Wednesday. However, Arshavin is hoping to be back in time for the Premier League meeting with Sunderland on 20th February. "If all goes well, I get back on the pitch as early as the next Premier League match against Sunderland," Arshavin told Sport Express. "However, the next game against Porto in the Champions League I will miss." The news is a blow for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as he is already without long-term injury victim Robin van Persie for the game against Porto
