Arsenal midfielder sets sights on silverware

Aaron Ramsey is convinced that Arsenal will still be a major force in the Premier League this season and is not paying attention to the critics. Arsene Wenger has had to contend with transfer speculation regarding star duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri this summer, whilst also admitting that he has found it difficult to bring in reinforcements. Having finished fourth last term and seen their title rivals strengthen, the Gunners have been written off in many quarters and there have even been suggestions they could struggle to hold on to a UEFA Champions League place. But while Manchester City and Chelsea have been tipped to provide the greatest challenge to reigning champions Manchester United, Ramsey is staying positive. The Welsh midfielder, who will lead out his country in a friendly against Australia on Wednesday night, believes Arsenal could spring a surprise in the race for top spot.

Ability

"Arsenal have handled those things in the past," the 20-year-old said in The Sun. "Nobody takes too much notice, we know what we have to do. "There's no question about the ability we've got. We'll still be a force. "I think we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. "To be honest, we'd like to win everything."
