Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to step up his rehabilitation from ankle surgery after X-rays on Monday revealed that he was on course in his recovery. Wilshere went under the knife six weeks ago after suffering a stress fracture in his right ankle during the summer. The 19-year-old had originally hoped that the injury would heal itself with the help of a protective boot but he was forced to undergo an operation that is set to keep him sidelined into 2012. Wilshere has not made an appearance this season but seems to be on track in his recovery after X-ray results. "As I said had 6 week X-ray earlier and all going well," the England international wrote on his Twitter page. "I can start to work a bit harder now." Arsenal are currently seventh in the Premier League table with 19 points from 11 matches, just three behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
