Brighton manager Chris Hughton says Ronald Koeman is big enough to handle the pressure following Everton's poor start to the season.
Everton travel to the Amex Stadium on Sunday having lost four of their seven league matches this season, a run which has left them 16th in the table.
After an expensive summer in the transfer market, Everton fans were hopeful that Koeman's new-look team would have a successful start to the season.
Instead, the pressure has been mounting on the manager with the side two points above the bottom three.
Hughton has plenty of sympathy for Koeman and is not surprised by the flak that is coming his way.
"It's normal in the game now", Hughton said. "I think with any team, particularly a top team that have spent well, there is always that pressure on managers, but he is an outstanding manager.
"Those four games [defeats] have been against the top teams. Any pressure that is coming his way, he is certainly a big enough manager and a big enough character to cope with all of that.
"When you have got good players generally it is going to be a period of time before things turn in your favour and the wins start coming."
Brighton and Everton go into the game level on points with Hughton's side a couple of places better off in 14th.
