Cadamarteri fails drug test

Bradford midfielder Danny Cadamarteri could be facing a lengthy ban from the game.

Bradford midfielder Danny Cadamarteri has failed a drug test.

The former Everton player, once tipped as a star of the future, could now face a six-month ban from the game.

Any punitive measures are pending the results of a second test but should that prove positive as well then the Football Association may act.

The 26-year-old is expected to travel to London this week in order to argue his case with FA disciplinary officials.

Cadamarteri told the Sunday People: "There is nothing I want to say about this at the moment because I need to speak to The FA. This is not over yet."

Bradford club secretary Jon Pollard added: "The club has nothing officially to say at this moment because it is in the hands of UK Sport."
