Moyes looks to add striker to squad before deadline

Sky Sports News understands Everton are in talks to sign Manchester City striker Jo on loan. Jo has struggled to make an impact at City since his then club record £18million move from CSKA Moscow last summer. He has scored just once in nine Premier League appearances for Mark Hughes' side and has not featured in the league so far in 2009. Skysports.com revealed on Friday that Bundesliga leaders Hoffenheim had shown an interest in the Brazilian following an injury to Vedad Ibisevic. However, Everton are now making an attempt to keep the 21-year-old in the Premier League after starting discussions over a loan move. Everton boss David Moyes is currently short on attacking options after losing Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Louis Saha and James Vaughan to injury. Tim Cahill has been pressed into emergency use as a centre-forward in recent weeks, but Moyes has been trying to sign a striker. Moyes confirmed he had made enquiries for players on loan and he could bring Jo to Goodison Park before Monday's transfer deadline.
