Former Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack has announced his retirement from football to join Watford as the club’s head of academy goalkeeping.
The 36-year-old, who has spent the last 18 months at Eastleigh, has reached an agreement with the National League side to terminate his contract with immediate effect.
Stack joined Arsenal at 16, and made his Gunners debut in a League Cup tie against Rotherham in 2003, where he scored a penalty and saved one in a 9-8 shootout win for the north London side.
A little over two years later, Stack joined Reading where he spent two-and-a-half seasons before moving to Plymouth.
That was followed by a three-year spell at Scottish Premiership side Hibernian before Stack returned to north London to join Barnet where he would go on to become club captain, later combining playing duties with a role as first-team goalkeeping coach.
Stack joined Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters in 2016 in a move that saw him reunited with Steve Coppell, who had signed him for Reading more than a decade earlier. He joined Eastleigh after the conclusion of the 2016 ISL season.
Former Republic of Ireland U21 international Stack also had loan spells at Wolves, Leeds, Millwall, Blackpool and Belgian side Beveren during his 15-year professional career.
