Reading in talks over Forest defender
Sky Sports understands Reading are closing in on the signing of Nottingham Forest defender Chris Gunter.
The Royals have been trailing the Forest full-back all summer and saw a bid rejected for the player in May.
A number of other clubs have expressed an interest in Gunter, but Reading are now thought to have come back with an improved bid for the former Tottenham man.
Royals boss Brian McDermott is thought to have made Gunter one of his top targets and is determined to bring him to the Madejski Stadium.
Talks are thought to be at an advanced stage between Reading and Forest with the Premier League new boys keen to tie up a deal as soon as possible.
Gunter is thought to be keen on a switch to Reading where he would be reunited with former Forest team-mate Garath McCleary.
