Sunderland full-back Pascal Chimbonda is set to move back to Tottenham, Sky Sports News
The French full-back only moved to Wearside in July last summer, when Sunderland snapped him up along with fellow Spurs players Steed Maldbranque and Teemu Tainio.
However, it was not long before Chimbonda fell out with the then manger Roy Keane.
Following Keane's departure he was used by new boss Ricky Sbragia - but he clearly feels he needs strength in other areas and has sanctioned the sale.
The two clubs have agreed terms and Sky Sports News
understands that Chimbonda is now set to have a medical in North London.
The move comes just hours after Sbragia condemned Spurs for their 'methods' in attempting to land Kenwyne Jones.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has made no secret of his desire to bolster his squad during the transfer window and the capture of Chimbonda will mark the arrival of another former player, following Jermain Defoe's switch back to White Hart Lane from Portsmouth.
