Ukrainian giants keen on Spurs midfielder

Dynamo Kiev president Igor Surkis claims his club are discussing a deal for Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar. Spurs are prepared to offload the Croatia international this summer after seeing him slip down the White Hart Lane pecking order. Kranjcar has aired his frustration at a lack of first-team activity on numerous occasions and is pushing for an exit. Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg are reported to have expressed an interest in his services, but no deal has been done as yet. That has left the door open for Kiev to make their move, with the Ukrainian giants determined to secure a big-name signing after missing out on a number of other top targets.

Proposal

They have already sounded out Kranjcar's agent and hope a meeting can now be set up with Spurs. "We are negotiating for Kranjcar," said Surkis. "We still have to meet him and Tottenham, but he is in our transfer plans. "We have already missed out on several players - not because we aren't able to meet the demands of their clubs but because not everyone wants to come to the Ukrainian league. "If Kranjcar thinks over our proposal, searches his soul and wants to come here, then we will buy him with pleasure."
