Tottenham have confirmed Harry Redknapp will miss the Europa League match with Rubin Kazan in order to undergo a 'medical procedure'.

Spurs do not disclose when manager will return to dugout

Tottenham have confirmed manager Harry Redknapp will miss Thursday's Europa League match with Rubin Kazan in order to undergo a 'medical procedure'. Spurs have not revealed the extent or nature of the treatment, which will take place on Wednesday morning, but Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan are to take charge for the trip to Russia. Tottenham take on Kazan with a two-point lead over PAOK at the top Europa League Group A and a win on Thursday would book the English club a place in the last 32. But Redknapp will not be in the dugout to mastermind the potential progress to the knockout stages and Spurs have not disclosed whether he will return for Sunday's Premier League London derby at Fulham. Tottenham said in a statement on their official website: "The club can report that Harry Redknapp is due to undergo a medical procedure tomorrow morning and will therefore not travel with the squad to Russia for our Europa League fixture against Rubin Kazan. "Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan will assume first team responsibilities in Russia in his absence."
