Spurs forward says he is recovering from back injury

Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has revealed that he was not included in the squad for his side's Premier League game against Fulham on Sunday because of a back problem. Pavlyuchenko picked up the injury during Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Rubin Kazan in the Europa League Group A in Russia last week and had to be substituted on 75 minutes. The 29-year-old was excluded from Tottenham's side that won 3-1 at Craven Cottage in the Premier League and he has now disclosed the reason for his absence. "I got this injury during our game against Rubin," he told Sport-Express. "I felt pain in the back 10 minutes before the break and I asked for a special patch which fixed my back. "I felt even more pain in the second half and in this condition I wasn't really useful for my team so I asked to be substituted. "As I got back to London I was hardly able to walk. The doctors stated that I have neuralgia and advised special physiotherapy and to take medicines. "But now, I'm much better and will go for Russian national team duty in fully fit condition. I'll fly to Moscow on Tuesday evening."
