Sevilla have ruled themselves out of the race to sign Giovani Dos Santos, claiming Tottenham's valuation of the forward is too high.

Club say they will not be returning with a bid for Tottenham forward

Spanish side Sevilla have ruled themselves out of the race to sign Giovani Dos Santos, claiming Tottenham's valuation of the forward is too high. Dos Santos - a £4.7million signing from Barcelona in 2008 - looks set to leave White Hart Lane this month after failing to secure a regular place in Spurs' first team. The Mexican, who has featured in only three Premier League games this season, is being tracked by Villarreal and Granada, with both clubs claiming to have made bids. However Sevilla, who tried to sign the 22-year-old last summer, will not be making a move. "Tottenham wanted an exorbitant amount for him," Club President Jose Maria del Nido was quoted as saying on As.com. "In the end, they were asking for 6.5 million Euros." Dos Santos has played 10 times for Spurs in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
