Blackburn Rovers have had a £250,000 bid for Motherwell's Ben Heneghan rejected by the Scottish club, according to Sky sources.
The clubs remain in discussions, but Motherwell are understood to be asking double the amount for their highly-rated central defender.
The 23-year-old defender, who joined Well from Chester, has only 12 months remaining on his current deal with the Scottish Premiership side.
Speculation surrounding Heneghan's future has been intense in recent weeks with Sunderland and QPR in England, as well as Pedro Caixinha's Rangers, all linked with the player.
