Aston Villa defender James Chester produced a stunning goal-line clearance to prevent Bolton from levelling in their Sky Bet Championship encounter

Is there such a thing as goal-line clearance of the season? If there is, then this is surely a contender...

Aston Villa defender James Chester produced a stunning clearance to prevent Bolton from levelling in their Sky Bet Championship encounter on Friday night.

Trailing 1-0 to Jack Grealish's early opener, Jack Hobbs was convinced he had levelled for Bolton after his header looped back across goal.

The Bolton defender even had his hand in the air in celebration, but Chester came to the rescue for Villa, acrobatically hooking the ball away.

Villa's Twitter account labelled it 'heroic', while Keith Andrews in the Sky Sports studio said: "Phenomenal. I don't know how he hasn't pulled his hamstring!"
