Aston Villa defender Neil Taylor has withdrawn from the Wales squad for the forthcoming matches against Denmark and Albania due to injury.

Wales face Denmark in the Nations League clash in Cardiff on November 16, and then travel to Albania for a friendly four days later.

Taylor was forced off with an injury at half-time in Aston Villa's 3-0 Sky Bet Championship win at Derby on Saturday and has failed to recover in time.

The 29-year-old left-back has won 41 caps, but this was the first time that manager Ryan Giggs had named Taylor in one of his squads.

Wales manager Ryan Giggs is excited to have Gareth Bale back in his squad despite the forward's ongoing difficulties at Real Madrid.

Wales have yet to call up a replacement, even though they are already without Tottenham left-back Ben Davies for the Denmark tie and next Tuesday's friendly in Albania.

Brentford defender Chris Mepham has already been ruled out of the squad through injury and has been replaced by Sheffield United's Kieron Freeman.

Mepham pulled out of last month's high-profile friendly against Spain and the Nations League tie with the Republic of Ireland after picking up a knock in training.
