Norwegian wants to stay with Villa

John Carew has wasted little time in asking new Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier to give him a chance. Carew was at Lyon under Houllier, but the two fell out and the Norwegian moved to Villa. Now Carew is hoping that the two of them will be able to work together at Villa following Houllier's appointment as Martin O'Neill's replacement. "My mission is to work hard day to day to make the starting XI at Aston Villa," he told The People. "I do not have problems with the coach. What is done is done and I accept it. My exit from Lyon is in the past. "Now I am only interested in the present - and I think I will have a chance to play.''
