Injury blow for Euell

Jason Euell has suffered a huge pre-season blow after he dislocated his shoulder.

Jason Euell has suffered a huge pre-season blow with the news that he has dislocated his shoulder.

The injury occurred during Charlton's friendly at Dover on Tuesday evening.

Euell has been looking to leave The Valley this summer and both Birmingham and Middlesbrough had made enquiries.

However, any transfer talks will have to be put on hold until Euell has fully recovered.

Euell is the second Charlton player to go down with an injury in 24 hours after goalkeeper Dean Kiely broke a finger in training on Monday.

"We've now had two major disappointments in the last 24 hours with Dean fracturing his finger and Jason dislocating his shoulder - we wish them both a speedy recovery," said Addicks boss Alan Curbishley.

"It's particularly frustrating because the two injuries were sustained in a freakish manner.

"Dean was just warming up and an opponent fell on Euellie, so they're things you can't do much about."
