Dobie agrees Middlesbrough deal

Middlesbrough have confirmed the capture of Luke Dobie from Everton, after he impressed during a trial spell. Dobie was told by Everton he would not be offered fresh terms at Goodison Park, and was offered the chance to train with Boro after impressing against them during a youth game. The 18-year-old midfielder has now agreed a one-year deal and is the club's second signing of the close-season after they also snapped up teenager Curtis Main from Darlington. Boro have also announced the latest batch of Academy graduates to be handed professional deals, and they include highly-rated left-sider Adam Reach - who made his first-team debut on the final day of the season and scored in the 3-0 win over Doncaster. Reach has been handed a three-year deal along with Ryan Brobbel, Charlie Wyke, Jake Fowler, Adam Jackson and Curtis Edwards, whilst Kyle Oliver has got a two-year term.

Hard work

Boro boss Tony Mowbray said: "While I congratulate all of the lads on earning their first professional contracts, the important message to them is that the hard work starts here. "The challenge now is to work towards becoming first team regulars. "That will only happen if they listen, learn and continue to develop every aspect of their game." Boro have also confirmed that a number of youngsters have been released. They are Philip Shead, Oni Roushias, Patrick Otte, Kieran Edwards, James Gray, Connor Sellars and Marinos Andreou.
