Everton midfielder Beni Baningime is undergoing a medical at Wigan Athletic ahead of loan for the remainder of the season.
Baningime, who started his career at Everton, has made eight appearances for the club and signed a new four-year-contract in May.
The 20-year-old's brother, Divin, is a Wigan player and has represented the team at U18 level and in the development squad.
In January, Wigan have signed defender Danny Fox from Nottingham Forest and winger Anthony Pilkington, as well as completing a loan deal for Sheffield United's Leon Clarke.
