Millwall are closing in on a deal to sign midfielder Ryan Leonard from Sheffield United, according to Sky sources.
It is understood Leonard is set to join on an initial loan until January, when the move will be made permanent.
Leonard would also join for a sum in excess of the club-record fee paid to sign Tom Bradshaw from Barnsley last week, which was more than £1m.
Meanwhile, the Lions remain in talks to sell midfielder George Saville to Championship rivals Middlesbrough, also on an initial loan with a view to a £7m permanent deal - but Millwall will only sanction this deal if a replacement is secured.
Leonard joined Sheffield United from Southend in January, despite interest from Millwall, and went on to feature 13 times last season as the Blades finished in 10th place.
The 26-year-old, whom Sky Sports News reported was of interest to Millwall earlier this week, has made four appearances so far this season.
