Midfielder warns West Ham need plenty of proven newcomers

Mark Noble believes West Ham need to make a host of new signings to be in contention for an immediate return to the Premier League. The Hammers were relegated from the top flight last season, leading to several players leaving Upton Park this summer, with more set to follow. Noble is now the club's longest-serving player despite being just 24 and reckons the Hammers can bounce straight back up from the Championship. But he feels new boss Sam Allardyce must first boost the squad by bringing in as many as half-a-dozen new recruits. "I am confident about the new season but, obviously, we need to sign a lot more players," he told the Sun. "We've got to make five or six signings - good quality signings."
