"He's been training with us for a few days and has put in good performances," Flores confirmed.
"The clubs are talking to arrange the last details and I expect him to come to us. It will be difficult for Saturday but the deal is close."
Diamanti, 32, began his career at his hometown club Prato in Italy before before joining Livorno in 2007 and the West Ham two years later.
He made 30 appearances during his one season at Upton Park, scoring seven goals, and he has 17 caps and a goal for Italy.
