Blackpool boss growing tired of saga

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has told Charlie Adam he has until Monday to accept their contract offer. The Rangers midfielder impressed during a loan spell at Bloomfield Road last term and Holloway is eager to sign him on a permanent basis. A fee of £500,000 was agreed between the two clubs at the start of July, but Adam has continually stalled on the switch and previously admitted he was keen to fight for his place at Rangers. Seasiders boss Holloway has become frustrated at how the saga is dragging on, and if Adam has not accepted the terms on the table by Monday, then he will look elsewhere.

Chocolate bar

He told the Gazette: "I'll give him until Monday morning, then we'll have to rip up the offer we've made him. "I've never waited this long for anyone before but I believe he's a talent. We need him and he needs us. "But if the deal isn't done by the beginning of next week we will have to move on. "I've seen the influence that Charlie had on the team and I've seen his character. "He really believes in himself and his ability. If he was a chocolate bar, he'd be licking himself. He's got something about him that boy and I can't wait to work with him."
Holloway revealed that he has six more transfer targets in the pipeline as he looks to bring in new faces ahead of the new Championship season. He added: "We started to do six deals yesterday. It takes time, though. "My phone is buzzing and we've not stopped. I'm desperate to bring some quality to this club. "We do feel like we are getting there, though, and hopefully we can have some deals done over the next few days."
