Cardiff City are going ahead with their controversial rebrand and changing the club's primary colour to red.
Cardiff currently play in blue and are known as the Bluebirds but the club's Malaysian owners believe that there is more potential in a switch.
As a result, Cardiff's home shirt will be red from next season onwards and a new badge will also be introduced.
A statement on the club's
official website read: "Cardiff City's primary home colour has been changed to red, while the squad will wear blue shirts as an away option."
The decision has been driven by the club's Asian investors who believe the colour will resonate more as a Welsh brand.
The statement continued: "They believe very strongly that there is a need to make some radical, but important changes to our brand.
"Key to the strategy is to ensure that the club, representing as it does the capital city of Wales, projects a national identity which will resonate with potential audiences abroad.

"The colour red is widely recognised as being synonymous with Welsh culture and heritage, with Cardiff the proud capital of the country.
"The colour also holds strong spiritual significance in Asia, where it is seen as a symbol of prosperity, power and good fortune."
The decision was first mooted during the season and was widely condemned by Cardiff supporters who are proud of the club's traditions.
Those protests have been ignored and Cardiff chief executive Alan Whiteley, while sympathetic to fans, believes the decision is the right one.
Whiteley said: "We recognise there is a history and commitment that goes with supporting Cardiff but at the same time we have to be prepared to be realistic and progressive."
Cardiff chairman Chan Tien Ghee added: "The adoption of the new badge, incorporating the proud symbol of the Welsh dragon with the iconic Bluebird and the new red home strip, very proudly places Cardiff as the capital of Wales."
