Shrewsbury have signed teenage midfielder Aaron Wildig on a month-long loan deal from Championship club Cardiff.

The 19-year-old progressed through the Bluebirds' youth ranks, making 13 league appearances for the Welsh side. Wildig, who spent time on loan at Scottish side Hamilton last season, will bolster Shrews' midfield as fellow loanee James Wallace is suspended after being sent off on his debut against Dagenham & Redbridge. The 19-year-old joins the Shrews in time for their FA Cup first-round trip to Newport this weekend, and Cardiff have granted the youngster permission to play in the tie. Manager Graham Turner told Shrewsbury's official website: "We are delighted to have Aaron on board and he is a player we have known about since he was 15 years of age playing in Cardiff City's reserve side. "He is a good footballer, a good passer of the ball and at 19 years of age can only get better."
