Jeff Hendrick says it is a pleasure working with Roy Keane

Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick says he "enjoys" working with Republic of Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane.

Keane was previously embroiled in a row with Harry Arter - leading, in part, to the Cardiff midfielder being left out of the squad - with a tape being leaked which was alleged to be Stephen Ward confirming the spat.

Hendrick, however, insists Keane is a real asset to his game. When asked about Keane's approach to management, the 26-year-old said: "I enjoy it. After the last game we played Wales and there was a few clips I didn't do well in and I sat down with him and he talked me through and helped me.

"I tried to put that into practice in the Poland game and personally I felt my performance was better. The team's performance was better as well.

"We keep sitting down and picking his brain. He played in the same position I do so it's always good to do that."

Republic of Ireland resume their UEFA Nations League campaign against Denmark on Saturday, live on Sky Sports Football, following an opening-game 4-1 defeat to Wales in Cardiff last month.
