Coventry want to keep Jutkiewicz amid Boro interest

Coventry City have insisted that they have no intention of letting Lukas Jutkiewicz leave the club on loan. Middlesbrough failed with a bid to land the 22-year-old on deadline day, but they remain still interested in the former Everton man. Football League clubs can still strike loan deals and it is believed Boro were hoping to take Jutkiewicz on-loan with a view to a permanent deal in January when the window re-opened. But Coventry insist that they have no intention of allowing Jutkiewicz to leave on loan. "Why would we loan him out?" Coventry boss Andy Thorn told the Evening Telegraph. "If we were looking to get rid of him we would have sold him in the window, so it makes no sense to send him out on loan.

Part of our plans

"I've spoken to the chairman about it and Lukas is very much part of our plans here. "He's a good young talent and we certainly don't want to lose him." Indeed, Thorn is looking to raid the loan market in the coming weeks. "I've already got a list. I'll try to get one or two in because the more bodies the better," he said. "It would be nice to get a few loans in and we'll be talking about it now the window has re-opened. "We'll be monitoring the Premier League clubs and their 25 men squads to see what's what, but at the moment not a lot have said who will and won't be available."
