Danny Gabbidon could come into contention for Queens Park Rangers this weekend after a knee injury proved to be less serious than first feared.
The defender picked up a knock during Rangers' 3-0 win at Wolves on Saturday.
After falling awkwardly, the Wales international was forced from the field and appeared all set to take in a spell on the sidelines.
He has, however, undergone scans on the problem area and no structural damage has been discovered.
That means he could be available to Neil Warnock when QPR welcome Aston Villa to Loftus Road.
Swelling
Head physio Nigel Cox told the club's
official website: "Danny twisted his knee, and the subsequent swelling made a full examination difficult.
"We sent him for a scan on Monday morning and the report has come back and there is no major structural damage, which we are delighted with.
"The injury certainly isn't as bad as we initially feared.
"At this moment in time, he is a doubt for this Sunday's game against Aston Villa but he is working hard and doing everything he can to be available for selection."
