Wilson recalls midfielder to bolster squad

Swindon have recalled Michael Timlin from his loan spell at Southend to bolster their options in midfield. The 25-year-old had been at Roots Hall since mid-September, scoring once in eight appearances for the Shrimpers in League Two. His loan was extended midway through October by another month, however Robins boss Danny Wilson has opted to recall the player due to a lack of squad depth. The former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international will now go straight back into the squad for Swindon's FA Cup trip to Plymouth Argyle at the weekend. Timlin's departure will come as a blow to Southend, who had used the player consistently since he arrived at the club.
