Veteran full-back ruled out of next three matches

Experienced left-back Ian Harte is set for the sidelines just one game into his Carlisle career. The former Republic of Ireland international broke two bones in his hand as he made his Carlisle debut during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Northampton. Harte visited a specialist on Wednesday and was told he will need a full cast for at least two weeks, ruling him out of United's next three matches. "We did inquire about the possibility of a half cast for match day but, obviously, it always has to be the case that correct treatment for the injury takes precedence," physio Neil Dalton told the club's official website. "He'll miss the next three games and then we'll reassess the situation thereafter." Harte had linked up with Carlisle only last week, signing until the end of the season, and is set to be available again for the game against Swindon on April 18. The 31-year-old made over 250 appearances for Leeds before spells with Levante, Sunderland and most recently Blackpool.
