Home comforts for Orient

Image: Lisbie: Bagged the opening goal

Leyton Orient recorded their first home league win of the year with a 2-0 win over derby rivals Brentford.

Kevin Lisbie set Orient on their way with his eighth goal of the season when he met a 29th-minute free-kick from Dean Cox to head the ball past Bees goalkeeper Simon Moore with some aplomb from 10 yards. Brentford had a chance to level three minutes later, but Niall McGinn saw his tame close-range header saved by Orient goalkeeper Paul Rabuchka. The miss proved costly as the home side doubled their lead on the stroke of half time and Cox was again the architect, drilling in a cross from the left that Ben Chorley touched into the path of Jimmy Smith to lash the ball home from 10 yards. Orient were content to sit on their lead after the interval and were seldom asked any serious questions by a disappointing Brentford outfit who were restricted to hopeful long-range efforts by a solid Orient defence.
