Sky Bet to refund Blackpool fans' journey to Plymouth

Sky Bet have stepped in to refund Blackpool fans who are making the 642-mile round trip journey to Plymouth on Tuesday night.

With 30 committed Tangerine fans making one of the longest journeys in football for away fans - and on a work night as well - the sponsor is hoping to reward the loyal followers as part of their new Away Days initiative.

The Away Days campaign aims to improve the match-day experience for thousands of travelling fans in the EFL this season.

In addition to those onboard the official supporters bus, Sky Bet will also make the travel refund available to other Blackpool fans making the journey, upon receipt of their match ticket and travel costs. Fans should email ko@heavyweightsports.co.uk for details.

Sky Bet sponsorship manager David Tweed said: "The thousands of miles that away fans travel each season following their teams so often goes unrecognised, let alone unrewarded.

"The hours spent going up and down the country's motorways and railways is what Away Days are all about - going that extra mile to reward the lifeblood of our football community."
