Sky Blues say Norwich have made no contact for defender

Norwich's reported interest in Martin Cranie has been dismissed by Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd. Cranie's future at the Ricoh Arena had been put into doubt over the summer after the Championship newcomers showed reported interest in the defender. Norwich boss Paul Lambert is looking to mould a squad capable of competing in the second tier following his team's automatic return from League One. The Canaries came up as champions last season and Lambert is keen on adding the versatile stopper to his ranks. But Boothroyd insists he has had no contact from the Canaries and dismissed any transfer talk as close season speculation. The Sky Blues chief told the Coventry Telegraph: "I have not had a single call and neither has the chairman so as far as we are concerned it is just speculation and rumour, which you get a lot of at this time of the year."
