Chris Hughton was pleased to see his Brighton side finally show their talent in front of goal - but was frustrated it did not lead to all three points.
The Seagulls had only scored once in their last six Premier League games, but found the net twice in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Amex Stadium.
Hughton revealed his side had worked hard on addressing their lack of threat in front of goal, but their efforts were undone by the Cherries.
"I thought we were good today," Hughton told Sky Sports.
"Some of the areas that we needed to address and needed to be better, which was giving ourselves the opportunity to score goals, I thought we were very good in that department today, in regards to our intensity and our work in the final third.
"Just hugely disappointed, having gone in front on a couple of occasions in a game that certainly on chances we deserved and should have won, that we didn't."
Hughton would not be drawn on whether Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is a target for the Seagulls in the January transfer window.
When asked about a potential move for Dembele, Hughton added: "No, I'm very aware of the speculation. Certainly at this moment that's all that it is."
Both sides' open approach drew 42 shots on goal - the most in a Premier League game so far this season.
And Hughton admitted Brighton have been trying to force the issue on the attacking front in recent weeks.
"Well there's been a conscious effort from us to try to be better in the final third," said Hughton.
"But every now and again you'll get that feel to a game, when it can be quite open.
"Whatever moment, when there's momentum going, that's the way the game went.
"We attacked and as an away team they are a side with a lot of tempo in their game, that counter-attack very well too."
