Bees to release quartet

Brentford boss Martin Allen has told four players that they will be released at the season's end by the Griffin Park club.

Danny Thomas, Lloyd Blackman, Stephen Hughes and Lee Fieldwick have been told that their futures lie away from the South West London outfit.

The quartet are all out on loan at present and will be released from their Bees' contracts once they expire on June 30.

They join youth trainees Dominic Gauci, Matt Paterson, Steve McNamara, Mark Scotchford, Wally Downes, Ryan Lake and Harpal Matharu in not being offered further professional terms by the club.

A decision on 19-year-old centre back Dean Wells's future has been left until after Brentford's final match of the season against Bournemouth on May 8.
