Transfer news: Bristol Rovers starlet Lewis Ellington attracting interest

A host of clubs are keeping tabs on exciting Bristol Rovers teenager Lewis Ellington, Sky Sports understands.

15-year-old Ellington featured for Rovers in their midweek win over Gloucester City in the GFA Senior Challenge Cup.

Ellington impressed Rovers assistant boss Marcus Stewart during the win over Gloucester City, with the youngster now on the fringes of the first-team.

"Lewis is only 15 and is an Academy player who only made his debut for the U-18 side a couple of weeks ago, at Bournemouth," Stewart told the club's official website.

"He appeared to be quite confident and he coped very well in the 45 minutes he was on.

The winger, who can also play up front, has come through the club's Academy and is regarded as one of the best young talents to come through at the Memorial Stadium.

Ellington's progress has not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the football pryamid, with Premier League and Championship clubs keeping a close eye on his progress.
