Hibernian's talks with Michael Appleton stall over contract

Talks between Hibernian and Michael Appleton over the manager's position have stalled over terms in the proposed contract.

The former Oxford United boss was expected to take over at Easter Road this week after impressing club officials.

Former Leeds head coach Paul Heckingbottom has also been interviewed for the role.

Meanwhile, Australia manager Graham Arnold and former Scotland manager Gordon Strachan have both been linked with the role.

Academy manager Eddie May has been in caretaker charge of Hibs since Neil Lennon left the club at the end of last month.
