Star winger could depart Celtic for Russian club

Skysports.com understands that Spartak Moscow are looking to agree a deal with Celtic for Aiden McGeady. Officials from the Russian club are reportedly flying to Scotland in an attempt to thrash out a contract for the Republic of Ireland winger with the Hoops. It is believed that Celtic might be willing to do business for a fee of between £8million and £9m. Parkhead wide man McGeady has also been linked with a move to Premier League club Birmingham, with boss Alex McLeish expected to follow up a failed bid in January with a second attempt to secure the forward's signature. Scottish-born McGeady made his senior debut for Celtic as an 18-year-old in 2004. Now 24, McGeady has made 185 appearances for the club, helping them land back-to-back Scottish Premier League titles from 2006-08.
