Gers tie up Thompson
RANGERS have struck a deal with Dundee United and will unveil Steven Thompson as their latest capture on Wednesday.
Just 24 hours after Billy Dodds went in the opposite direction, Gers boss Alex McLeish tied up the loose ends of the deal for the forward.
Thompson was placed on the transfer list at Tannadice in early December, and was immediately linked with a move to Ibrox.
McLeish tried to play down talk of a bid, but The Gers revealed on Monday that they were attempting to sign the youngster.
Thompson swiftly agreed terms, with a three-and-a-half-year deal set to be finalised when the transfer window opens on Wednesday.
German titans Borussia Dortmund were reportedly monitoring the player`s situation, but the Ibrox club proved too tempting to resist.
