Hearts were unable to extend their lead at the summit of the Scottish Premiership after dropping their first points of the season through a goalless draw with Livingston.

Having won five games in a row, the league leaders were frustrated by an impressive Livingston performance at Tynecastle but will also be ruing their missed chances.

Steven Naismith had a first-half penalty saved by Liam Kelly, while Craig Wighton nodded wide after the interval when he should have done better.

Hamilton's clash with St Mirren was delayed by 10 minutes due to a false fire alarm at Hope Stadium and it was the hosts who better dealt with the distraction as they ran out emphatic 3-0 winners.

Fredrik Brustad opened the scoring by stabbing home after Steven Boyd's shot had initially been saved by Craig Samson.

Mickel Miller notched the second from the penalty spot after Dougie Imrie had been brought down by Jordan Kirkpatrick before the English forward completed the rout with a pinball shot that struck both posts.

Hibernian climbed up to second place after completing a routine 3-0 victory at Dundee.

The visitors had a great first-half chance to take the lead but Daryl Horgan flashed a header wide when he should have done better and then two quickfire goals in the second half swept them out of sight.

Florian Kamberi capitalised on a superb pass by Martin Boyle to open the scoring before the winger turned from provider to scorer, finishing off a slippery run with a fine strike.

Replacement Thomas Agyepong made it three with a late strike similar to Boyle's second.

Aberdeen led after just seven minutes against Motherwell and the early goal was enough to seal their second win of the season.

James Wilson celebrated his first start for the club by driving Niall McGinn's pass beyond the reach of keeper Trevor Carson.
