South Korea international Park Chu-young has joined Monaco on a four-year deal.
The 23-year-old, regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in Asian football, has arrived from FC Seoul.
He becomes the fourth South Korean player to play in France after the two clubs agreed a reported fee of just over 2million euros (£1.6million).
Monaco chairman Jerome de Bontin said: "We had been in contact with his club for several months and we are very happy he has joined us."
Coach Ricardo added: "He is a centre-forward, very comfortable right in front of goal.
"He will need a little time to adapt to our league but I hope he will manage that quickly."
Park, who has scored nine goals in 27 appearances for his country, is relishing the challenge of trying to prove himself in a top European league.
He said: "After the Olympic Games, I played two matches with FC Seoul and I'm ready to play. I'm proud to be here.
"It was not me who picked this team, but the team which chose me."
Monaco also signed Switzerland international and former Lyon defender Patrick Muller on a two-year deal, as well as Nigerian midfielder Sani Kaita from Sparta Rotterdam.
Muller was released by Lyon at the end of last season, while Kaita has been with Sparta for three seasons.
